Even Hollywood doesn't get it right all the time. Despite huge budgets, plot holes, filming mishaps, and major editing mistakes can be seen in almost any movie if you pay close enough attention. While most movie mistakes go unnoticed and don't have much effect on the film overall, some are harder to forgive. From historical inaccuracies to accidents caught on film, the big screen is full of blunders. We've gathered 30 of the biggest movie mistakes you'll find in some of the best movies of our time. How many have you already caught?

The Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

At several points in the film, Barbossa can be seen holding a Granny Smith apple. However, the film is set sometime in the early to mid-1700s, and Granny Smiths didn't come into existence until 1868.

Pulp Fiction

While editing this movie, Tarantino and his team missed something pretty big. In the scene that shows Jules and Vincent getting hosed off in Jimmy's backyard, we can see Jules taking his pants off ... twice.

Ghostbusters

About an hour into the movie, we hear Ray quoting the Bible. The verse, he says, is Revelation 7:12. In reality, the verse he's quoting is Revelation 6:12, and he's far from accurate.

Toy Story 3

Even animated films aren't safe from movie mishaps. When the preschool children in Toy Story 3 go outside for recess, the clock in the classroom shows 3:00. When they come back in for playtime, it shows 1:00.

Independence Day

Early on in the movie, we see Steve reading the newspaper and drinking his morning coffee. Even though the date in the film is July 2nd, when he opens his newspaper we catch a glimpse of the publication date, which clearly says August.

The Shawshank Redemption

When Andy Dufresne used a Raquel Welch poster to cover up his escape tunnel it, it was a major oops. The poster was from the film "One Million Years B.C.", which was released in 1966. In the film, Dufresne's escape took place in 1965.

Top Gun

When Maverick is signaled to take off in the movie's final dogfight scene, the hand signal he's given is incorrect. Instead of "take off," the signal the actor uses is meant to tell the pilot to remove power during early launch procedures.

Rumble in the Bronx

While the film's title and plot indicate that it takes place in the Bronx, it was actually filmed in Vancouver, Canada. In multiple scenes, we can see the Rocky Mountains in the background.

The Godfather

Although the film takes place in the 1940s, there are 1970s vehicles in the background during the funeral procession scene.

Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope

As the stormtroopers run into the Death Star's control room, one accidentally hits his head on the door frame. When the film was remastered in 1997, a comedic sound effect was added to pay homage to the goof.

Kill Bill: Vol. 1

When the Bride is flying to Okinawa, one shot shows the strings attached to the airplane, which is a miniature prop. However, this could be a quirky deliberate flub courtesy of the notoriously unique writer and director, Quentin Tarantino.

Forrest Gump

Forrest is shown drinking a Dr. Pepper at the New Year's Eve celebration in 1972, but the logo on the bottle is one that didn't exist until much later, in 1985.

Wreck-It Ralph

During the final race scene, the board indicates that there are 16 racers, including Vanelope, who is absent. However, only 14 karts are lined up and Sticky Wipplesnit's kart appears to be missing.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

When Indiana Jones enters Dr. Jones' house, there's a light switch on the wall that wasn't invented until the 1970s.

There's Something About Mary

Ted gets a fishing lure hooked through his cheek in the scene where he and Mary take Warren fishing; however, we never see any indication in later scenes that it happened. No scars, no bandages, nothing.

Superbad

When the guys check out Fogel's fake ID, there isn't a magnetic strip on it, but when the cops investigate it in the liquor store, we can clearly see a magnetic strip.

Spider-Man: Homecoming

In one scene, we see the Staten Island Ferry transporting vehicles on the lower deck. In reality, the ferry hasn't been used to transport cars since the 9/11 attacks. 

Casablanca

In the opening scene of this iconic movie, we see Rick playing chess and when the camera closes in on his hand he's wearing a wedding ring. In the film, Rick isn't married.

Jurassic Park

When Lex falls through the ceiling, she can be heard screaming, but her mouth is closed.

Halloween

When Annie complains about having to babysit for the Wallaces, Laurie tells her she is babysitting for the Doyles, who live three doors down. When the houses are shown later in the film, they're across the street from each other.

Limitless

This one's a biggie: the plot of this movie is based on the theory that humans only use 10% of their brains. In reality, this is a myth that has been debunked numerous times. In fact, humans use nearly all of their brains, even while sleeping.

Iron Man

Just a few minutes into the film, Tony Stark is said to have graduated with honors from MIT; however, MIT doesn't award honors to its graduates.

The Wolf of Wall Street

When Jordan meets Naomi, she has an Australian accent. Throughout the rest of the film she speaks with a New York accent.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles

In one scene, we see Del trying to remove his parka. In the background, there's a sign for the California State Route 198 entrance, where it's probably too warm for a jacket.

My Cousin Vinny

Vinny gives Mona a high five after examining a witness. Though we can see that their hands never actually touch, we can hear the sound of two hands clapping together.

American Hustle

In several scenes, we see kids wearing backpacks on their way to school. In the 1970s, backpacks weren't worn by school kids.

Guardians of the Galaxy

In some scenes, Gamora's eyelids have green makeup and in others, they don't.

Bohemian Rhapsody

The movie depicts the band recording "We Will Rock You" in 1980. In reality, the song was released in 1977.

The Blair Witch Project

When Josh, Mike, and Heather are in the house, a light from one of the cameras can be seen through the window.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Harry's eye color changes between green and blue frequently throughout the movie.
