Io was a beautiful young woman who caught the eye of Zeus. To protect her from the jealous wrath of his wife, Hera, Zeus transformed Io into a cow. However, Hera was not fooled and had Io guarded by the hundred-eyed monster, Argus. Eventually, Zeus managed to rescue Io and restore her to her human form.
